Monkey From H**C

今天中午被顾客骂粗口,其实我只是传达信息说,若他要转换律师将会拖延整个过程。可能他老人家有重听,

Monkey : “We as customer we have our right to choose our own lawyer. I am in the same industry as well, I know how the process goes… bla bla bla.. fuck… If you are not going to do this, I will report this to Bank Negara……”

当我听到他那句粗话时,心情顿时沉了下去。然后心里越想越气愤。

Me : “Well sir, you don’t have to be so rude to me. I didn’t say you can’t change the lawyer. I am just telling you that this will slow down the process. If you insist to change the lawyer then I’ll get you a form to sign and then pass to the other department. Is that Ok for you?”

Monkey : “Ok”

也许他也意识到自己很没礼貌,收起了他那把机关枪。 然而我的心情已很低落,面对着眼前的午餐只觉得吃不下去。难得他还好意思说自己也是同行的,堂堂一个大男人竟然对着女人骂粗话。我真替H银行感到悲哀,请了个没礼貌,自以为是,not gentleman at all的粗人。Please la.. who do you think you are?!
开始很佩服front desk的员工每天面对着形形色色的人,还得报以回笑。Sigh.. long way to go….

I am just worry that he may be infected by hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) because  Sean babysitter’s son is infected by HFMD. I am going to look after him tonight and tomorrow.. Hopefully it’s all my over-worried… :(

Decided? Suicided?

“How come they all say your husband suicided?”

When I got this message from my dear friend KY, my first thought was the message probably delivered to the wrong person. So I called her up and she confirmed that someone is saying my husband suicided. I was like WHAT? Who make this lame rumours? We were wondering why and until she mentioned the guy named MR. HOOI was the one who spread this “news”. And finally I know what happened already.

First, let me introduce MR. HOOI, who working in the same company with me and I believe he is a personal financial consultants (those who sell wealth plans, education fund and etc). He was proposing me an education fund plan because he know I have a baby. Now the story begins…

Yesterday he called me up and I told him that I’m not into the plan. In our conversation, I did mention that my husband has already DECIDED. Then he keep on apologizing to me. That time I was quite confused why is him apologize to me but without much thoughts I hung up the call. SO…. I believe this guy had mis-heard SUICIDED instead of DECIDED. Thanks to his misinterpretion and eventually end up this joke among my friends. -.-

And I’m here to make clarification that my husband is fine and stay very healthy. Thanks for my dear friends concern. But… next time if you all heard some rumours especially those really unbelievable, please confirm with the ”victim” OR ELSE when you attempt to confirm with others (those friends who are known to the “victim”), you are actually spreading the rumours among the peers.

By the way, I am going to “chan” Mr. Hooi tomorrow.

Interview Tips

As you all know, I’ve got plenty of interview experiences. *blush* Now I’m gonna share some of the interview tips to the job seekers.

I noticed that the way of female and male interviewers conduct interviews are different. Basically female interviewers are friendly and will ask questions one by one. I think they had a list of “must-ask questions” in their mind. While male interviewers are the extreme type, either they are very friendly or they are very strict. They don’t ask question followed by the list. Congrats if you meet the former one else you gotta be very confident to face them. Be prepared to be shoot by questions like “Why do you think you deserve RMxxxx (if you have written your expected salary)”, “Why shall I hire you?”, “What do you think you can contribute to my team?” and etc. Click here (or Chinese version) to view the interview questions.

I heard some cases like some interviewers love to create difficulties for interviewees. They will shoot on your academic results or the test you’d done at there. The truth is they purposely make you hot and see how you handle your emotions. So beware of your EQ.

Well, there are some key words you can always reuse, in fact they like to hear them very much. Words like passionate about your job, willing to learn, fast learner, willing to take the challenge, independent, self-motivated and bla bla bla (refer to the job requirements on the ad). Show them how much you are interested and eager to work for them.

If you are applying for a management trainee position/leadership training program, your participation in sports/societies will be their favors. You can show them your co-curriculum certs provided if you have great achievement else just keep it for your own reference.

I also aware that salary will be different if you are interviewed by the Head of department and HR (human resource). The head of department will always fight the highest pay for you while the latter will give as low as possible (if you have not much of experience).

If you have to send your resume via email, you can use a cover letter (short and clear) as the email content. For me, cover letter is more like showing the level of your English.

Lastly, what I want to say is you don’t have to be so honest all the time, a lil bit of lies are required sometimes.

I hope that this piece of information can help the fresh interviewees out there. Good luck! :)

“People are understandably nervous when they come in for an interview, so we, as employers, always make an effort to put them at ease.

“If the interviewee is nervous, it is difficult to gauge his ability or understand what the real person is like,” explains Chai.

Whatever happens though, candidates must remember that an interview is a platform for the employer to assess the interviewee personally to determine if he, or she, fulfils the requirements they have laid out.

“Companies are usually looking for people who can think clearly in a stressful situation, and an interview is a highly stressful situation.

[quoted from Mr. Chai Cheng Seng (Director of IBM Malaysia human resources), A Successful Interview @ IBM, "http://thestar.com.my/education/story.asp?file=/2007/3/25/education/16907022"]

Hunting No More

Finally… yes finally…. I’ve got the offer letter and I just can’t wait to work now (First time being so semangat). Yesterday was a very bad day for me, today I seem like seeing the light in my life.

The pay was out of my expectation — high. But I truly understand that you get paid well, which in other words that they are expecting YOU to give your excellent performance as well. At this moment there is only $$ in my eyes. I am gonna work this out.

And what is this position about? Well… I once swore it I never wanted to work in this field… but…. Ahhh.. Take it as a challenge for me! Things always go unexpectedly, don’t they?

Self hypnosis-ing …. I like sales… I like sales….

The picture below is nothing related with my topic. Just feel like sharing :)

not going to write this anymore

How long do you need to calculate this maths equation? With a calculator?

Met this Miss M in post office as I had 4 letters to post. She took me 5 minutes to actually count the amount correctly. Trust me, I keep looking at my watch because I was in hurried. Her slow motion and stupidity really got on my nerve.

I don’t know how she came up with RM0.90 for first count. In fact, I can just paid her and got off with my stamps. BUT… I was too kind and being honestly (see how I put myself into a mess) telling her the correct amount. So she did another calculation. Oh yes she was using calculator from the beginning. This time was RM1.50.

I started to show my impatience but still I was acting patiently to teach her how to count.

“First, this group of stamps are 30¢, then here another 30¢, add up another 30¢, and 30¢ and all together is RM1.20!

Miss M then again used her calculator…

“15 darab 4… dapat 60″ She wrote on a piece of paper. I really feel like cekik her neck at that moment.

“4 darab 5 ………” Again another figure on the paper. Finally add up all 3 figures and got RM1.20.

Thanks god. My 1 ringgit note and 20¢ coin had been lying on the table for long and is finally got its owner. Within a minute, I quickly paste all the stamps, put into mailbox and rushed into my car and ended up this crap.

p/s: Wondering who is Miss M? Their people well-known of SUPER IDIOTIC in maths calculation. Now I am pretty sure you got it.

Chocolate Cornflake Cookies

4 cups cornflakes*
16 ounces bittersweet chocolate, tempered **

* Crispness is important here, so use a fresh box of cornflakes.

** Place the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time on high power until the chocolate is melted. Be very careful not to overheat it. The chocolate may not look as if it has completely melted, because it retains its shape. The chocolate should be only slightly warmer than your bottom lips. You may still see lumps in it once you’ve stirred it, but don’t worry; the residual heat of the chocolate will melt them.

Pour the flakes into a large mixing bowl, then pour about 1/2 of the tempered chocolate over them. Use a rubber spatula and mix until they are coated evenly. The tempered chocolate will immediately being to set up. Once the chocolate has set, repeat with the remaining chocolate to give a second coat.

Quickly scoop the chocolate cornflakes into small mounds onto a parchment paper-covered baking sheet. Use one spoon to scoop and one spoon to scrape the mixture onto the sheet. It is important to work quickly because the mixture is easier to scoop before the chocolate hardens.

If your kitchen is very hot, you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. Do not leave the cornflakes in the refrigerator for more than 10 minutes; if they get too cold, condensation will form on them when they are removed from the refrigerator because of the difference in temperature between the cold chocolate and the warm air. This will cause the chocolate to turn white. While this doesn’t affect the taste, it does ruin the appearance.

Store the chocolate cornflakes in an airtight container in a cool, dry area. They will keep for two weeks, if you can resist eating them

Makes about 6 dozen pieces.
