As you all know, I’ve got plenty of interview experiences. *blush* Now I’m gonna share some of the interview tips to the job seekers.
I noticed that the way of female and male interviewers conduct interviews are different. Basically female interviewers are friendly and will ask questions one by one. I think they had a list of “must-ask questions” in their mind. While male interviewers are the extreme type, either they are very friendly or they are very strict. They don’t ask question followed by the list. Congrats if you meet the former one else you gotta be very confident to face them. Be prepared to be shoot by questions like “Why do you think you deserve RMxxxx (if you have written your expected salary)”, “Why shall I hire you?”, “What do you think you can contribute to my team?” and etc. Click here (or Chinese version) to view the interview questions.
I heard some cases like some interviewers love to create difficulties for interviewees. They will shoot on your academic results or the test you’d done at there. The truth is they purposely make you hot and see how you handle your emotions. So beware of your EQ.
Well, there are some key words you can always reuse, in fact they like to hear them very much. Words like passionate about your job, willing to learn, fast learner, willing to take the challenge, independent, self-motivated and bla bla bla (refer to the job requirements on the ad). Show them how much you are interested and eager to work for them.
If you are applying for a management trainee position/leadership training program, your participation in sports/societies will be their favors. You can show them your co-curriculum certs provided if you have great achievement else just keep it for your own reference.
I also aware that salary will be different if you are interviewed by the Head of department and HR (human resource). The head of department will always fight the highest pay for you while the latter will give as low as possible (if you have not much of experience).
If you have to send your resume via email, you can use a cover letter (short and clear) as the email content. For me, cover letter is more like showing the level of your English.
Lastly, what I want to say is you don’t have to be so honest all the time, a lil bit of lies are required sometimes.
I hope that this piece of information can help the fresh interviewees out there. Good luck!
“People are understandably nervous when they come in for an interview, so we, as employers, always make an effort to put them at ease.
“If the interviewee is nervous, it is difficult to gauge his ability or understand what the real person is like,” explains Chai.
Whatever happens though, candidates must remember that an interview is a platform for the employer to assess the interviewee personally to determine if he, or she, fulfils the requirements they have laid out.
“Companies are usually looking for people who can think clearly in a stressful situation, and an interview is a highly stressful situation.
